Documents needed for TN Visa application
The person must be a citizen of Canada or Mexico.
Qualified under an accepted NAFTA/USMCA profession.
There is evidence that this position in the United States requires an expert in NAFTA/USMCA
The U.S. employer has prearranged a part-time or full-time job for the participant. Independent contractors are not eligible.
Credentials and educational requirements of the position should be demonstrated by the participant.
Canadian citizens must meet the following TN-1 requirements:
In general, Canadian citizens do not require a NAFTA/USMCA professional (TN) visa to enter the United States . The participant must, however, have a TN visa if he or she wishes to bring dependents (spouses and children under 21) to the United States. Dependents are then eligible for TD nonimmigrant visas. CBP-designated U.S. ports of entry can be used to apply for the TN nonimmigrant status.
