In 2020, IRCC held 37 ITA rounds and issued 107,350 invitations, an increase of 26% over the 85,300 invitations issued in 2019. Following the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak, IRCC focused on Canadian Experience Class-specific rounds of invitations, resulting in a significant increase in 2020 (54%) from 2019 (36%) owing to the shift from general rounds to Canadian Experience Class-specific rounds. Accordingly, the proportion of 2020 invitations issued under the Federal Skilled Worker Program decreased from 45% in 2019; and the proportion of 2020 invitations issued under the Provincial Nomination Program decreased from 18% in 2019 to 13% in 2020.
