Application  Received Status: Your application has been received at the Case Processing Centre in Sydney, Nova Scotia. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship officials will now review your application and the required documents and fees to make sure they meet the minimum processing requirement.

Your file has been sent to the closest Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) office that is near you for processing. Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship officials complete the necessary steps of making a decision regarding your application. In case more information or documents are needed, you will hear from them. Between the ages of 18 and 54 years, you have to fulfill the knowledge and language requirements for citizenship. The citizenship test will determine whether you meet the knowledge requirements for citizenship. You will be notified in writing regarding the time and location of your test. Citizenship test proves that adult applicants 55 years or older do not need to take the citizenship test. An interview with a citizenship officer or citizenship judge may also be required. Should this be necessary, you will be notified by mail about the time and place of your interview.
