Family Sponsorship Program Canada

One of the major perks within Canadian Immigration system is uniting family members or relatives through the Family Sponsorship Program. The member being considered for the permanent residency status must be a family member as per the Canadian government rules. This is a generous program that allows family members worldwide to be united to their kith and kin in Canada including parents, grandparents, spouse, common-law partners, dependent children all of whom must primarily qualify for the Family Class Sponsorship program.

The sponsor must be at least 18 years old and a Canadian Citizen or a Permanent Resident or person registered in Canada as an Indian under Canadian Indian Act. The sponsoring individual must not be a defaulter in previous sponsorship agreement or detained in prison or subjected to a removal order or be receiving social assistance himself or should have claimed bankruptcy. The sponsor must be residing in Canada during the application for family class sponsorship and the application process requires payment of fees to be done in two stages. Medical tests are mandatory to be conducted for the sponsored individuals. The needs of the individual along with financial assistance for the sponsors have to be undertaken by the sponsor through a written covenant which is valid until duration of stay or until the sponsors until Permanent Residency status or Canadian Citizenship.
