Live-in Caregiver Program (LCP) Canada

Canadian families can hire a foreign caregiver for children, seniors or persons has the certificate for medical needs while Canadians and permanent residents are not available for the position. Families may hire foreign caregivers under Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP) with following norms:

  • The caregiver provides care on a full-time basis that is at least 30 hours per week
  • The care is being provided by caregiver must be in the private household
  • Fulfils the requirements set by Service Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) or Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC)

Children's caregiver:

  • Age of children under 18
  • Applicable positions are child care provider, nanny, live-in caregiver(NOC 4411)
